Ms. Shonda’s 6th grade art class has learned what conventional and unconventional art materials are. Students can show they are open to using new ideas to create art. Here you see students beginning to work on their projects. Unconventional art project using materials you normally wouldn’t use.  Very excited to see what they come up with.

On Friday, CES sent out letters to students who were required to attend summer school because of attendance & grades. We also sent home letters to invite students to attend who were not required to come, but might want to join us! Summer school begins on May 20th, and ends on June 13th. The school day will be 8:00am to 12:00 pm. Uniforms are not required, but clothing must be school appropriate. Also, all students are eligible for the bus. The letter with information is being attached. If you would like for your child to attend, please let his/her teacher know by Tuesday, May 14th.

As many of you know, CES teacher, Summer Wheatley, suffered a severe health issue at school yesterday and is in the hospital. To show support for Mrs. Summer, we'd love for students & community members to wear tie-dyed or KC Chiefs-themed shirts or colors TOMORROW. Your support is greatly appreciated! #SummerStrong
